On a cluttered office desk plastered with Post-it Note to do lists, one little Post-it Note escapes on an incredible journey of self-discovery to find his father.

// Marketing Mag shared this cute story recently, just in time for Father’s Day. Post-it Note kicked off their 30th anniversary with a creative stop-motion animated video called “Ode to a Post-it® Note,” found on their Canadian branded YouTube channel. Vancouver’s Jeff Chiba Stearns & 3M Canada created this adorably charming 5 min video about one PIN’s search for his creator, Arthur Fry.

// Ah, I was wrong – ONE more thing before leaving on my trip (back to posting July 1st). Pop Life: Art In A Material World, the Ottawa-based art exhibit, runs June 11 – Sept 19. Includes great artists like; Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, and Takashi Murakami. I got a taste of Jeff Koons‘ work at Nuit Blache 2009, his giant inflatable silver rabbit was fascinating. Jeff’s work became popular in the 80′s for elevating kitschy museum art, and his marriage to an Italian porn star. The virtual tour through the Pop Life exhibition at the Tate Modern in London by ArtLyst can be seen in the video below.

// Before heading to Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia, I want to share the coolest, most creative & easy way to literally invent your own style of handwriting and turn it into a usable font via the web. It’s called Pilot Handwriting, get started here and check out the video above to get a sense of how it all works with technology. Pilot is actually a Japanese pen manufacturer based in Tokyo. Pilot partnered with Spanish ad agency Grey to develop this app.

// The Electrolux Design Lab is an annual global design competition that’s open to undergraduate and graduate industrial design students who can present ideas for household appliances of the future. The competition theme for 2010 is “The 2nd Space Age”, an exploration of the role domestic product design has in maximizing living space. The top 25 out of 1,300 ideas from 17 countries across the globe were chosen.  All 25 semi-finalists can be seen here. The Bio Tank invention called “FishWasher” by Akifusa Nakazawa in Japan is brilliant. It’s a dishwasher, composter and pet in one machine, you place plates into the dish tank so that robotic fish can clean plates. What an efficient pet.

// To gain trust for their products via consumer recos, random women will be blogging for P&G for 28 days for the Olay Pro-X challenge (Olay Pro-X Starter Protocol anti-aging products), the concept was developed by Saatchi and Saatchi and the Olay Pro-X line was launched in January 2009. Both Chatelaine and Flare mags invite readers to fill out an online application to participate and apparently, if you had cosmetic surgery, you’re out.

// Creative animation studio Aniboom is hosting a contest with Saatchi&Saatchi on videos that bring to life the idea that ‘nothing is impossible’. The winner will be announced end of June, live @ Cannes. I loved this submission called Rank 3: Just Fly, a clip created by animation students (Cecy Valdez, Mares García, Carlos Cepeda, Adrían Quintanilla, Emilia Davil) that represents a song called “New America.”
