    ads

The controversial atheist message aka “No God” print ads (banned in Italy), are going to grace Toronto soon…on TTC red rockets of course! To give you a taste, one ad reads:
“There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”
The Advertising Standards Authority ruled in favour of the atheist bus campaign and it is being championed by the Toronto-based Freethought Association of Canada that has been approved by the TTC to appear on buses & inside subway cars (paid for by public donation). The spots have created intense conversations, debates, anger, buzz and all all that great stuff. The ads were used in a similar campaign in Britain recently.

    WHY?

One blogger wrote: We wished to introduce our perspective into an ongoing discussion on the role of faith in a secular society and sincerely hoped it would create fruitful dialogue.

K.West – SL from J Gavin on Vimeo

In the spirit of all the creative buzz, inspirational speaker’s and general commarderie between all during advertising week, I decided to post this creative music video to the tune of Kanye West’s song called Street Lights. The character used resembles the female version of RBC’s latest animated banker mascot ‘Arbie’ and the beautiful slow motion effects are fit for a film. This post was taken from Kanye West’s blog.

Fantastic new video from Coldplay. I love the constant reconnect to the band with the audience by using the 80′s style book the adorable girl holds. Also, when the ‘grip’ rolls out the stage for Chris Martin before he flips down the aisle is priceless, not to mention hilarious!

    Artist: Coldplay
    Creative: Life in Technicolour
    Director: Dougal Wilson
    Production Company: Colonel Blimp

I’m a big fan of the approach to ‘connect more & advertise less.’ This pepsi spot by TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles Worldwide Chief Creative Officer Lee Clow does just that. Have fun watching!

It was reported that the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, likely will have been watched by more people (on more platforms) than any other televised event in U.S. history, even the Super Bowl.

Lagest players: the web, with cable news and social networks. Although I watched the coverage on the big screen, I saw the CNN online feed with facebook update’s that encouraged youth to view & comment.
